Brain neurons twist like vines of ivy
With leaves burning orange in the turn of autumn.
Days grow shorter within my mind.
Shadows appear in my forlornness.
Synapses snap and squeeze
As a mirage is born.
A futuristic vision is planted
In my prefrontal cortex.
Apocalypse appears to be next
While grass sprouts through the sidewalk. .
A snow covered dandelion greets me in the morn,
While drivers on cell phones blast their scorn.
I dodge their erratic driving
Waving my hands frantically.
Neurons are all ablaze.
Ivy vines fuel the flame.
The grass and dandelion are intended to convey hope for recovery and better brain health. Feel free to comment or share on Facebook, Twitter or Pinterest.
